Ramanand Swami was born Ajay Sharma (father) and Sumati (mother) in Ayodhya is Vikram Samvat 1795 Brahmin families. His child hood name was Shri Rama Sharma. Ramanand Swami was the incarnation of Uddhavaji Uddhavaji and recalled the knowledge and all other commendable features. When he was inclined to asceticism from childhood, he decided not to go into secular life. He always loved Lord Shri Krishna idol every day. Leaving home-life and visit regions pilgrim, he arrived in the village Talaj Saurashtra and studied Vedic and Indian philosophical writings of the scholar Kashiram and became the chief disciple Swami Atmanand, the great ascetic Gopnath. His contact with the Guru (teacher) has led to the darshan of the divine light of Brahman, considered the ultimate reality of the universe. Ramanandji but always cherished a keen desire to have darshan with Lord Krishna, a form (figure).

By his grace and his own will Lord Swaminarayan manifested (born), even for the protection of religion and devotion in Kaliyuga welfare of the expression of many souls. Lord Swaminarayan is the direct incarnation of Narayan himself, whose will infinite universes create, sustain and destroy.

Thus His biological manifestation (birth) took place on 9th day of bright half of Chaitra month of VS 1837, known as Ramanavami Chhapaiya in a village near Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. His father was a researcher Dharmadev Samaveda Bhaktidevi Brahmin and mothers name because of his devotion virtues and sacred qualities. Following the adoption away from his parents when he was only eleven ascetic spirit Neelkanth Varnier later called Lord Swaminarayan, renounced his home with all his wealth and comfort and are presented as a pedestrian pilgrim visiting Indian pilgrim spots and holy places.

After initiating a tradition of looking after the entire Fellowship in the hands of the persons from his own family-line Lord Swaminarayan established two high seats of religion, one at Vadtal and the other at Ahmedabad. The first person to occupy the Laxminarayan Dev Gadi of Vadtal was H.H. Acharya Shri Raghuvirji Maharaj and seven other Acharyas (cardinal chiefs) followed him in the tradition.
