Ramanand Swami was born Ajay Sharma (father) and Sumati (mother) in Ayodhya is Vikram Samvat 1795 Brahmin families. His child hood name was Shri Rama Sharma. Ramanand Swami was the incarnation of Uddhavaji Uddhavaji and recalled the knowledge and all other commendable features. When he was inclined to asceticism from childhood, he decided not to go into secular life. He always loved Lord Shri Krishna idol every day. Leaving home-life and visit regions pilgrim, he arrived in the village Talaj Saurashtra and studied Vedic and Indian philosophical writings of the scholar Kashiram and became the chief disciple Swami Atmanand, the great ascetic Gopnath.

His contact with the Guru (teacher) has led to the darshan of the divine light of Brahman, considered the ultimate reality of the universe. Ramanandji but always cherished a keen desire to have darshan with Lord Krishna, a form (figure). His Guru Atmanandji believed that the principle of non-dualism. So he went to that place and arrived at Sri Rang Kshetra in the south. There he adopted the Bhagawati Diksha (procedure expected to start one person in particular discipline of religion), and meditation in the hands of Shri Krishna Darshan Ramanujacharya and then reach, he went to Prayag, where he met for Dharmadev, the father of Lord Swaminarayan.

Ramanand Swami first offered Mantra Diksha (beginning in the communion of saints), and Dharmadev and tour through the religious places arrived in Saurashtra region and set the hermitage in Loj village. Some fifty sadhus became his disciples, the most important of these was Muktanandji. Leaving worldly life Lord Swaminarayan is known as Neelkanth Varni arrived in Loj Muktanandji knew. Neelkanth Varni cherished a desire to meet Ramanand Swami. Meeting with Ramanand Swami and Neelkanth Varni Piplana occurred in the village. How Ramanand Swami asked him of his caste and family, it was noted that his father was also his pupil. Ramanand Swami offered Diksha is Neelkanth Varni and initiated him and gave him two names Sahajanand Swami and Narayan Muni. October 11th day of bright half of Kartik month of Vikram Samvat 1858 Ramanand Swami appointed religious leaders devote Shri Sahajanand Swami is a high place of the Holy Fellowship.

At that time, Shri Sahajanand Swami asked for two Boons from Ramanand Swami. 1.If any of your devotee suffers the pain of one scorpion-bite, let the pain come to Me in crores of bites (stings). 2.If any of your devotee is fated to hold a begging bowl, let it come to Me and let not any of your devotees should feel the want of food and clothing. Even to day these boons are magical and mysterious blessings, which bring blissful happy life to the devotees of Lord Swaminarayan. He left his material body on this earth in Faneni village on the 13th day of the bright half of Margashirsha month of Vikram Samvat 1858 and left for heavenly imperishable abode.
